ทุกครั้งที่ผมได้แสดงความคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับเรื่องความเหลื่อมล้ำของรถที่ใช้ถนนกับคนที่ใช้ทางเท้า ผมก็จะบอกเสมอว่าขยายถนนให้ตายรถก็ยังติดเหนือนเดิม ก็ลองดูในภาพที่ว่านี่สิ รถใช้พื้นที่มากกว่าคนกี่เท่า ยิ่งขยายก็ยิ่งติด ใครมีปากมีเสียงช่วยเอารูปนี้ไปเผยแพร่ให้ผู้ที่ดูแลบ้านเมืองดูหน่อย

ทุกครั้งที่มีคนพยายามออกแบบอะไรแบบนี้ สุดท้ายก็เห็นจบอยู่ในแบบ 3D เท่านั้น ‘บาง’อย่างนี้ แค่เห็นก็เสียวแล้ว

นาย Terrence Woodgate และนาย John Barnard หนึ่งเป็นนักออกแบบเฟอร์นิเจอร์ อีกหนึ่งเป็นนักแข่งรถฟอร์มูล่า 1 ใช้เทคโนโลยี่ในการผลิตรถยนต์ และวัสดุ carbon fibre ในการผลิตโต๊ยาว 3 เมตรตัวนี้ และหนาเพียงแค่ 2 มม.ที่ขอบโต๊ะ

แข็งแรงแค่ไหน ดูในภาพคงดูไม่ออก แต่แค่ใช้จินตนาการซักนิด ก็นึกออกแบบงานที่น่าสนใจได้เป็นโขแล้ว

กว่าจะมาเป็น keypad ที่เราใช้กันอยู่ทุกวันบนโทรศัพท์มือถือ อยากรู้จริงๆ ว่าเวลาที่เขาออกแบบมือถือรุ่นใหม่ๆ กัน เขาเคยศึกษาเรื่องพวกนี้กันบ้างหรือไม่ ล่าสุดที่เราเพิ่งเห็น B&O และ Samsung ออกแบบ Serene โดยใช้ pattern การ layout keypad เป็นทรงกลม ดูก็สวยดีนะ แต่ลองใช้ดูแล้ว…โอ…ใช้ยากจริง

ลิปยากำลังวางแผนสร้างพิพิธภัณฑ์ใหม่ ที่มีเนื้อหาเกี่ยวกับประวัติความเป็นมาของประเทศ สงครามและความขัดแย้งที่ผ่านมา ผู้ที่อยู่เบื้องหลังโครงการมีความพยายามที่จะใช้เวทีของการจัดแสดงนิทรรศการ เป็นเหล่งเรียนรู้และคลังความคิดของคนรุ่นใหม่ที่จะเป็นอนาคตที่สำคัญของประทศ

Our team was at the factory inspecting the upcoming Mobius installation. As far as we can see, things are coming along really well. Just have to wait and see the effect of the optical film we are laming on the fins when we finally install the unit.

Last Thursday Central Chaengwatta was officially open under the midst of Thailand political turmoil. We took some photo of Sound Tube under real usage and under real pressure.

It’s finally on site. Still, we are very unease about the situation on site. Look at all the construction that is happening around our objects.

Department of Export Promotion will be holding a Seminar, titled, “Design Business Today”. This is one of the great many attempt to establish a new design standard, or rather, set design as a real profession in Thailand.

designLAB will be sharing the stage together with Cadson Demak and Cerebrum. What will the seminar will be all about? Find out for yourself at Bangkok Code this coming Thursday, 27th November 2008.

We are working on this fantastic project. It’s a chandelier taken the form of a mobius donut. It was sectioned into plane. And we finished it of with this illusory film which gave special dimension to it. The molded looking spot on the film is due to the quality of the lamination which we prototype it ourselves. The real thing will not have any of that.
